About Us

Your host and hostess, John and Suzanne, share a love of good food, good wine and share backgrounds in the hospitality and tourism industries.

They enjoy meeting new people, as such it was a natural extension of their experience to incorporate quality guest accommodation with their interest in viticulture at Hawkdun Rise. It's very much a hands-on operation at the vineyard.

John, son of a South Island farmer, and Suzanne,  with her background in travel, enjoy the country life. It is hard but extremely rewarding and enjoyable work they say. They feel they have found their niche.
